IPR Affiliate Cynthia Colen's new study is first to suggest that children’s exposure to discrimination can harm their mothers’ health

A new study published in the Journal of Health and Social Behavior is the first to suggest that children’s exposure to discrimination can harm their mothers’ health. The findings reveal an association between a woman's children being treated unfairly and a decline in her health during midlife, said Cynthia Colen, associate professor in the Department of Sociology and lead author of the study.
