Jason's research interests involve demography, quantitative methods, and inequality. He is working on a project to develop new methods and tools for assigning cause of death in countries without national vital statistics systems. His research also focuses on the demographic impact of HIV/AIDS, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as the demographic and developmental processes that generate health and socioeconomic disparities over the life course.
