Sarah Hayford Featured on WOSU All Sides to Discuss Pronatalism Movement

Dr. Sarah Hayford, Ohio State University professor of sociology and director of the Institute for Population Research, was featured on the WOSU public radio program All Sides with Amy Juravich to discuss the pronatalism movement in the U.S.
The episode of All Sides covers how the current U.S. president and vice president are urging Americans to have more babies. They’ve proposed some ideas such as a $5,000 baby benefit and a motherhood medal for having more than six children.
Dr. Hayford brings her expertise from studying family formation and reproductive health, primarily in the United States and sub-Saharan Africa, to the interview. She researches how people make plans about these behaviors and who is able to carry out these plans. Current U.S. projects include research on trends in childbearing desires, intentions, and behaviors and studies of reproductive health care access in Ohio.
