PAA Action Alert: Urge Congress to support funding of scientific and statistical research agencies
Congress faces two critical deadlines in March to prevent a Federal government shutdown. This is federal funding for most of the agencies that support the population sciences, including the NIH, NSF, and Census Bureau, expires on March 8.
Given the significance of a potential government shutdown and the sensitive nature of the ongoing negotiations, the Population Association of America Office of Government Affairs has issued an action alert. Please urge your members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate to complete the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations process and support the highest possible level of funding for federal scientific and statistical research agencies that support the population sciences.
