Title of Talk: Research on the Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Policy Responses

We present a range of work at various stages estimating the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic and policy responses to it on labor markets, consumption, and health. This work quantifies the effects of social distancing projects overall and on different segments of the workforce (e.g. by gender, race, ethnicity, age, family structure). We will also discuss the effects on different types of work, emphasizing the importance of face-to-face contact and essential work. Lastly, we will discuss efforts to develop and estimate a cutting-edge model of the co-evolution of COVID-19 infection rates, economic outcomes, and health.
