  • Kevin Shafer is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology and a research associate of the Initiative in Population Research. His primary research interests include union formation and contextual effects. Currently, Kevin is examining how marriage timing, boundaries between socioeconomic groups, and marriage market context influences family and union formation. Additional research projects focus on the interaction between family formation and social stratification and social organization on neighborhoods and communities.
