Mission

Our Mission

The specific aims of the IPR include:

  • To become a leading population center focused on population, family, and health research.

  • To place special research emphasis on the multiple contexts on children's lives.

  • To develop a formal administrative, research, and training linkage between IPR and CHRR.

  • To cultivate additional family and demographic faculty strength in the departments of Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Public Health, Human Ecology, Biostatistics, Nursing, center for Urban and Regional Analysis, Criminal Justice Research Center and elsewhere at Ohio State.

  • To foster new large-scale collaborative multidisciplinary research projects that can compete successfully in the current funding environment.

  • To involve and mentor junior faculty and cultivate their interests and skills.

  • To provide demographic training for students across diverse but allied disciplines.
