Gordon Gee will introduce Dr. Groves then, Dr. Groves will speak briefly regarding the upcoming census and take questions from the audience. The reception is open to the OSU community, as well as Columbus community members. Light refreshments will be served.

This meeting will be geared towards faculty and graduate student researchers. Dr. Groves will address research related issues/questions. (Please RSVP for the 3 - 4 p.m. meeting by replying to this email. We need the head count to determine seating.) Robert Groves was nominated to be Director of the U.S. Census Bureau byPresident Obama in April 2009 and assumed the position in July 2009 after Senate confirmation. Groves is an eminent survey methodologist. For over three decades he held positions at the University of Michigan, including Director of the Survey Research Center. He has a PhD in Sociology from the University of Michigan.
